I am determined to find the
perfect hot cereal recipe for the kids in the morning and I tweaked the original oatmeal recipe and I have found
sweet success! It was a huge hit, my kids couldn't get enough.
1 c Red Mill 5 grain cereal or other mixed grains
5 c Water-not milk- you can add milk later
1/3 c Brown sugar or maple syrup
1/4 t Salt
1 T Butter, melted
apples, sliced and diced (optional)
1/2 t nutmeg
1/2 t Cinnamon
mix all ingredients together and place in the slow cooker on low overnight (8-10 hours) I want to hear if this even works out for you all, let me know.
